So, sometimes noise is nice!
Right now, Camille's cousin (who lives in Newport? Norfolk?) is visiting, with her husband (who works for the French Navy, I believe), and their three kids. I should probably be socializing, but they're all going on in French, and the kids don't really speak English well. But even so, the noise of the TV, the kids running amok, Camille, Seb, the cousin, and the husband conversing, all combine to create a nice background medley to my dinner and book on the history of English.
It's a bit better than this afternoon was.
Wine also helped.
