I had the most fantastic dreams last night:
I was (sort of) back in college, and wandering around the lakes of upstate NY (for some reason though, the landscape was very sere), and I saw some people flying a replica (sort of) of the Wrights' airplane. I followed them to where they landed, and discovered that they were able to stay up for two hours with five people aboard, and they let me join them flying for a bit. It was a mixture of men and women (also all college age), and they had built the airplane themselves. And I gave them my phone number, and got one in return for more flying. Sadly, I only remember that the phone number was in the 316 area code...
Also, I was living not in campus housing, but off campus (and, weirdly, my housemate was Kate, my current housemate, and I saw her about as much in the dream as I do in real life). And she had written into her lease that we were allowed to have pets, which I hadn't, and I was annoyed that I hadn't thought of that, and she had a cat, and something starting with a 'd' that was vaguely like 'dormenger', which wasn't a cat, although it looked like it, sort of, but it was a bit longer, and almost had hands, and was much lazier than the cat.
Also, I was out camping (well, palatial camping — with one of those really huge tents that you can set up a bunk bed or five in), and the people I was camping with were an older women (who looked pretty much like Catherine from CSI, although dressed more in flowing witchlike full-length dress/gowns) and her niece. There was something wrong with the niece (she couldn't sleep? She was looking for her mother? I'm forgetting...), and the Catherine-like woman was worried that a Raven Crow was responsible. So she asked me if that was possible, which it was a slight change, so to make her feel better I willed all the changed creatures in the area to show up. While we were waiting for them to show up (I expected around fifty), we sat down with the niece at a picnic table, and I gave the women questionnaires for her to ask the niece and write down the answers (I wasn't related to them, so I couldn't actually write down the answers), while I tried to use the answers to the two questionnaires to figure out what magical problem the niece had — I remember I had a fantastic set of magical potions, philters, and incantations. Meanwhile, I was still forcing any Raven Crows to reveal themselves, which took time and power.
Also, there was a man who wanted to be gifted in some way by a muse/god. Tradition held that if you were the slave of the muse/god for one night, and did what he said, and took what he did to you, with no words of complaint, sounds of discomfort, etc, you would be gifted in this way. For some reason, the man agreed to be the slave (yes, it was also in a sexual way) of this muse/god for three months (and during which time he could effectively make no noise nor disobey the muse/god).
Also, there was a parade down a street by the people who were sailing, there was an epidemic, and a bunch of other stuff that has drained out of my head while I was writing this.
But mostly, there was the flying...
