Tea pot

I broke my lovely 2-and-a-bit cup Beehive teapot, which I bought many years ago from Tealuxe (RIP), by accident. Until I can figure out if it's repairable, I had to get another teapot. I went and got the "Somerville" teapot from MEM Tea, and I have to say that it sucks. It's too small, the strainer is too small, it spills too easily, and it's really a downgrade.

(OTOH, they have a "White Turret Teapot", which is letting me try my hand at "gong fu"-style brewing without having to get facile with a gaiwan, which is very good in the office environment.)

The Cloud

I don't know who said that "the cloud is just someone else's computer" (and yes, I understand that it's more complicated than that). But every time someone talks about moving into the cloud, I keep on thinking about how almost every time I find a thing I like, it gets discontinued... If I put my data on "the cloud", and they decide they don't like my credit card (or some government gets involved), it isn't my data anymore...
