So, I went to the Nick Carter concert.

There were two smaller bands first -- one, called Vi3, wasn't really good. They might have been more acceptable to Bree, who at least likes the music they were trying to imitate. But on the other hand, she probably would have hated them even more, given how bad they seemed to be. OTOH, they probably are still young -- they may grow with time. I'll give them the benefit of doubt.

The second intro band was a group from North Carolina, called Justincase. Although I'm not really a big overly-loud-rock fan, Justincase were decent. A bit loud -- I think they would have benefited from turning down the speakers -- but musically much better. Also better entertainers than Vi3.

The main act, of course, was Nick Carter. I have this rather big crush on him, so I had rather high expectations. Some were met, some weren't. He is _really_ cute, though...

So, when he first appears on stage, he has this knit hat on, but not all the way on, and my thought on hearing his first song, looking at his movements and his hat, was "oh my god, it's Kevin Mullin". Which isn't _bad_ per se, but really isn't good either. I not sure how to describe Kevin -- he was the year after me in high school, and my judgements of character were not very good back then. But he was very, well, exhibitionistically spastic, I guess. Sort of. Not really, actually, but just a bit -- I don't know. A bit, too, of a pretender -- he went about acting very, well, I don't know the word for it, but it wasn't really him. This makes it sound like Kevin was worse than he was. Truth be told, he never bothered me especially, we just didn't understand each other. Unless he understood me, and I just didn't understand him.

So Nick was a bit like this. But then, as the show went on, I realized that he Nick was actually a fairly decent entertainer. Also, it helped when he lost the hat, cause he looks a lot better with his hair.

I think that he's not doing his voice much good though, with the kind of screaming that he occasionally did. It seemed very raw by the end of the performance, and it hadn't been very smooth to start with.

In the middle of the show, they did a small BSB medley, which was nice. Also, of course, they ended the show with "I got you", which is one of my favorite songs.
