Long time, no blog...

pukkuSo, it's been a while.
Quite a while, actually.
Since my last entry, a lot has happened. We transferred to the new Copernicus, and the second processor arrived, and I installed it, and life is happy on that front. I did get sshd installed via cygwin, and now I can log in from afar!
The CGN steering committee meeting was held in Bethesda, which happens to be smack dab one Metro stop away from where Mom and Dad live (and where I grew up). So, as it was being held on a MTW, I went down for FSSu, and saw the parents. Actually, Dad was in Houston that weekend, what with Grandma and Grandpa, but I did see him that tuesday for dinner, but Mom and I had a fantastic weekend. Saturday was rainy, so we went shopping for wedding presents for Sara, and then spent some time throwing out all of the homework I had kept from collage. I mean, I don't really need every single assignment I did during all four years, now do I? Then, we went and saw the movie "Migrating Birds" (I think that was what it was called) at the DC Filmfest, which was being held in the Avalon, which had just reopened on Wednesday. It was a very cool movie. Sunday dawned sunny, bright, springy, funderful! So, after church, Mom and I went sailing on the Potomac. The wind was a bit dicey for a while, but we did get some good sailing in, and Tinkerbell is a wonderful boat... After sailing, we went see "Ain't Misbehavin'" at the Arena stage, which was good entertainment -- not my style of music, but still fun. The SC meeting was fine -- I gave a presentation, which I think went well. I also enjoyed the Monday evening "let's-have-fun-with-alcohol" -- and was asked some interesting questions by my bosses ("How can you never have smoked pot if you were born after 1960?"). Fun all around!
In May, we've have rather tumultous weather -- or rather, bad weather -- right now it's a tad bit cool (~50F). But we've also had some good days! I've been blading twice -- and once all the way from work to the Esplanade and back!
What other news...
Well, Alan visited me for a weekend, which was cool -- he's having fun, apparently, on the Sloop Ernestina. I also, finally, managed to get together with Ollie and Peter, with a serving of Chuck thrown in for good measure, and we painted the town, if not red, at least a good stiff pink. First time with a scorpion bowl at the Hong Kong. I've seen Peter since then, to watch X-Men 2, which is a cool movie, but haven't managed to see Ollie again, nor Chuck yet..
I'm off tomorrow to VT to Sara's wedding...
I'll try to post more frequently, for all two of my readers, if I even have that many...
